New York City based self-taught artist, Bryce Potter, is inspired by his unique background. Diagnosed with Retinoblastoma as a child, Bryce developed Half Vision Art to illustrate his experience of living with one eye. From a young age, Bryce watched ophthalmologists create prosthetic eyes, which became a direct inspiration to Bryce’s creative process. Through the combination of abstract, realistic, and expressive style, Bryce is able to construct his own reality of living with one eye by implementing pieces from his visual journey that shaped his everyday life. Bryce also infuses his psychological struggles with depression, anxiety, and ADHD into his work by creating pieces that contain a combination of several different materials, including acrylic, graphite, oil and pastel. The compulsive energy symbolizes his vision and feelings – ultimately leaving his thoughts on each canvas.
Bryce is currently based in Tribeca, Manhattan.
